After-Sales ServicesThe After-Sales Service is provided by an independent unit of The Economic Data Institute. All databases, reports, studies and consultancy assignments must inevitably mean that the publishers or consultants are trying to interpret the needs and expectations of their users. Unfortunately in some cases those users will not receive all the data they need. This is not the case with EDI products. The main problem that EDI had to resolve was that a database contains a vast amount of raw data, which has been collected on a monthly basis over many decades. Clearly this amount of raw data and information would be unusable and unwanted by the majority of users - and indeed the cost would be many times greater After-Sales Services (for databases only) are designed to provide new or additional database information, data manipulation and analyses. In addition After-Sales Services allow clients access to related databases and complementary information. The After-Sales Service will provide that for 12 months a client can access the data in the whole database. This policy ensures that clients are completely satisfied with the database products because clients can get whatever data they need - whenever they need it. The cost of After-Sales Services is at least 50% lower than the initial database costs and provides a highly cost conscious method of acquiring a vast amount of additional or more detailed information at a relatively low cost. No other publisher provides such a service to their users. EDI will ensure that clients receive After-Sales Services for a full 12 months after the purchase of a database.
Ancillary Services EDI can offer clients Ancillary Services to assist their organisation. These include Business and Economic Systems, Software, IT and AI Tools, and other related resources. Online access EDI can provide Online Access if a client requires real-time up-dating or interrogation of the databases. Image Surveys EDI offers Supplier Image and End User Attitude Surveys at a very reasonable cost. EDI hold surveys on most major suppliers of products and services (and for others organisations) and can quickly and competitively undertake surveys. Databases Interrogation and Data Mining All databases are held online and thus one can mine the database and generate almost any configuration of database specification. One can query multiple databases to produce elegant correlations and relationships which shed light on the most reclusive issues. One can merge data on any number of product and service groups, consumption sectors, end user groups, supply-side segments, et al, to produce insight and answers. Database specificity The After-Sales Service can only provide support for the specific database(s) licensed to the user. EDI cannot generally provide data from unrelated databases, unless there is a specific agreement for this. Costs The current cost is $95 per hour; and, this includes all researchers / computer / database access costs. This costing is based on work which is scheduled at off-peak times. Delivery EDI normally seek to fulfil orders in 7-14 days. For more urgent After-Sales Service work the costs depend on the client’s time frame and the availability of EDI researchers. Telephone Support Account Holders receive telephone support via their Account Manager. EDI are unable to offer telephone support to Ad Hoc or reseller clients unless there is a specific agreement for this. Online SupportAccount Holders receive online support via their Account Manager. EDI are able to offer online support to Ad Hoc or reseller clients by specific agreement for this. Quotations The Client will usually be provided with a formal proposal and quotation for After-Sales Service work. This will underline the work which is to be provided and the cost of that work. Ordering The After-Sales Service is a stand-alone unit which is not connected to any particular Consultant, Distributor, Reseller. Support is provided on a contractual basis to Account Holders; and on an Ad Hoc basis to other users. Details of how to access the After-Sales Service is to be found in the database documentation which the user receives with the order delivery. |
